The legal provisions that apply to the waste report can be found in:
- the ordinance of 14 June 2012 on waste,
- the decree of 1 December 2016 of the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region regarding the management of waste – in short known as Brudalex,
- the code of 25 March 1999 regarding inspection, prevention, finding and punishment of environmental crime and environmental liability,
The ordinance on waste determines the overall framework of waste management.
Brudalex offers, among other things, an integrated legal framework to ensure the traceability of waste and ensures a thorough reform and simplification of the existing reporting obligations of waste management facilities.
